Sardines are a nostalgic snack for me, transporting me back to eating small tins after school as a child.
They also carry a sense of lightness and playfulness, evoking the sweetness of an imagined summer. This painting pairs sardines in a tin with bright citrus, bringing together childhood memory, summer warmth, and simple pleasures.
